Kitchen remodel including new Andersen window over sink, natural cherry cabinets, farm sink, custom tile backsplash, hardwood floor and stainless steel appliances

This kitchen is part of a whole house remodel that started in 2008.  Each year we return to tackle another part of the house making it the homeowner’s dream home.  As you enter the kitchen from the family room your eye is immediately drawn to the large island ahead and beyond that the warm natural cherry cabinets that are highlighted by the beautiful backsplash with a couple listello tile for an accent.

The Mrs. of the home had wanted to remodel the kitchen for many years and had several items that she wanted incorporated into the design.  We combined this with the options that were available through the Showplace cabinet line and came up with a kitchen full of hidden features.

Ample storage is included in every nook and cranny of this kitchen.  There are double sided cabinets supporting the Cambria Bradshaw Quartz countertops.  One side stores those items that you will use once in a blue moon and the other side houses every day items including Kitchenaid mixing stand that does the heavy lifting for you, spice storage, drawers with partitions that reduce clutter and pull out tray storage.  The stainless steel Thermador Appliances on the refrigerator wall allowed us to install deeper cabinets for larger items.  The new desk area is a great place for organizing mail and housing cookbooks.  We installed a tall pantry cabinet and a chef’s pantry cabinet for plenty of adjustable storage for an ambitious cook.

The judges complimented the seamless integration of the existing and the new trim.

The homeowner says "the kitchen is everything we imagined and more.  The layout is far more functional that what we had before, the cabinet inserts keep us organized, and having cabinets to the ceiling rather than having a soffit gives us much more storage space.

The pop up stand for the mixer makes using the mixer so much easier.  The pull-out wire rack in the cabinet under the sink makes use of space that is otherwise difficult to access or completely wasted.

Lighting in the original kitchen was horrible.  Now, there are six separate lighting zones.- pot lights around the perimeter of the room, a task light over the sink, a pendant light over the table, four pendant lights over the island, and two zones for under-cabinet lights.  There are enough electrical circuits to meet current and future needs.

The original pantry had a lot of usable space.  Although the new pantry takes up the same footprint, every square inch from the floor to the ceiling is accessible and usable.

The workers were courteous, friendly, and a pleasure to have in our house.  The job site was left clean and secure at the end of each day.

The workmanship is outstanding.   We added 42 square feet, but from the outside, it looks as if the addition had always been there, and from the inside, it is impossible to tell where the old floor ends and the new floor begins.

This is the kitchen we have always dreamed of having.  We could not be more pleased with the outcome."
