Project Statement: Middle of a Carolina summer . . . third
floor . . . cramped spaces . . . you guessed it --- attic remodel!
Despite hauling materials up two flights of stairs, it was a pleasure
finishing this space into an office/playroom with 3/4 bath for our
customers. To create a more spacious feel, we relocated a door and cut
a wall down to a half-wall, then cut a section of roof out and
extended space in back with a dormer. For an interesting introduction
of light we chose casements topped with quarter-rounds and awning
windows. In the bathroom, ceramic tile complements the cultured marble
shower and pedestal vanity. The end result is comfortable and
attractive finish of a space designed for use by the entire family,
yet easily convertible to living space for an older child. |
