Basement Renovation in Apex, NC

BEFORE

Sloped lots do have their advantages! We were delighted to receive a call for help to finish a full basement into a family recreation area and were thoroughly charmed with the family we were helping. This project involved a lot of fun and innovation. The initial challenge of what to do with ductwork and plumbing lines was overcome in the design phase, where we designed three tray ceilings for a great architectural effect to subtly obscure the ductwork. An employee challenge involved all team members in a “Hide the Support Pole” contest. When the customer questioned their choice of solid surface and a mounted hockey stick in the wetbar, we answered by sending them to look at granite and a custom mirror. Resulting in dramatic granite counters and a custom backlit aquarium-view mirror -- more upscale choices which were in line with their neighborhood. A wall-length beveled mirror and custom closet organizer resulted in a great exercise room, which could function as a bedroom for resale because of the full bath we installed adjacent to it. We completed this full-basement remodel just in time for the arrival of the Wagner’s third child and are glad to have given them more space.
