As our name indicates, the Quality Design & Construction
Team is a unique combination of construction and design
professionals who are able to take your project, whether it
is a single room renovation or an entire home make-over, from
sketches and ideas to completion. The team is lead by
David and Peggy Mackowski and includes designers,
carpenters, installers, and project managers, all working
toward the same goal - complete satisfaction with your remodeling project. Dave and Peggy believe strongly in
universal design and have encouraged their staff to earn
their CAPS (Certified Aging-In-Place) designation from the
National Association of Home Builders. Dave, and Peggy have earned this certification.

David J. Mackowski, President, CGR, CGP, CAPS - Dave began
Quality Design & Construction as Quality Home Improvements
in 1994. Dave has been recognized as a (CGR) Certified
Graduate Remodeler, and is one of the few Raleigh-area remodelers to have earned their CAPS (Certified
Aging-In-Place) and CGP (Certified Green Professional) designations from the National Association of
Home Builders.
Dave loves the remodeling process. He says that
satisfaction to him is looking into the face of his client
as they see the design come to life.
He also writes articles to provide
industry insight to clients in order to help them make more
informed decisions.

Peggy Mackowski,
Vice President, CGR, CGP, CAPS - "The Glue"
Peggy is the Vice President of Quality Design & Construction, a design/build general contracting company serving the Triangle area of North Carolina since 1994. Quality Design and Construction specializes in residential remodeling. Peggy is a Certified Graduate Remodeler, a Certified Aging in Place Specialist, a Certified Green Professional and a Certified Lead Renovator.
Born in New York, she moved to North Carolina in her early childhood. She attended Wake Technical institute and worked at the North Carolina State Employees’ Credit Union for almost 10 years, earning her Certified Credit Union Executive designation, the hallmark of professional credit union achievement. This hands-on experience in management and operational techniques led er to assist Dave get Quality Home Improvements off the ground on the best possible footing.
She is married to a wonderful, supportive husband, Dave. They purchased a weekend home at Lake Gaston and have been remodeling it ever since. They enjoy the company of a 12 year old cat and are getting ready to get a Doberman puppy - their 4th.

Carrie
Carroll, Designer - Carrie Carroll originally started
working with Quality Design & Construction in 2004. After
two years, Carrie left the company to pursue further
education and training within the kitchen and bath industry.
She has since returned to work for QDC, drawing on her newly
gained knowledge of (and experience within) the extensive
cabinetry industry. Carrie enjoys the interaction with
customers and takes extra care to listen to her clients’
wants and needs so that she may compose the best design
possible to accommodate their specifications and exceed
their expectations.
Carrie has earned degrees in both the Architectural Industry
and the Culinary Industry, which has proven to be the
perfect cocktail for a kitchen remodeling specialist.
Working as our Designer and Project Administrator, Carrie
looks forward to directing a wide assortment of remodeling
projects with our company. As with all members of our team,
Carrie possesses the talent, knowledge and expertise to help
turn your dream into a reality! .
Brian Wilkinson, Project Manager - Brian was born in
Asheville and has lived in Raleigh for the last 38 years.
His 25 years as a carpenter and his experience on
construction and remodeling jobsites, make Brian among the
finest project managers available. When he is not
playing with the grandchildren, you can usually find him
watching NASCAR.
Sandra Wheeler, Office Manager - Sandra is responsible for all scheduling, billing, permitting
and publication formats, supporting the designers and field staff, as well as all the odds and ends that
keep an office running on a daily basis. Sandra comes to us from a construction company in Apex, where she managed the office and was responsible for payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable. She is skilled in all the software applications necessary to running a business, and is a Notary Public and Real Estate Agent.
Born in upstate New York, Sandra enjoys living here in the Raleigh area and playing with her young nieces and nephews. She is currently taking a dance class, and is engaged to be married this summer.
Sandra is the first person you will see when you come to our office, and is looking forward to meeting you!
