Sometimes a small change, like adding just a little
more living space, can be the difference between a house
and a home!
This homeowner is a commercial mason and wanted to include
his custom trademark in his remodel. We said, “No
problem!”
This laundry and bath mudroom addition is only small
portion of a larger remodel that spanned the
entire kitchen, dining room
and closed in screen room. The space is comprised of an
unfinished attic for storage, a powder room and laundry
room. Three growing children and a husband coming home
from jobsites are two great reasons to update their older,
outgrown mudroom!
The entry way from the driveway is
now host to a locker area for the children right next to
their new mudroom! Because the project resulted in a
reduction of natural light, oval windows were installed
next to a frosted glass door into the laundry room to
remedy the compromised light source.
The powder room was placed in the mudroom and adjacent to
the dining room to redirect foot traffic through the
dining room, to provide additional convenience, and also
to protect the carpeting and flooring from dirt and debris
tracked into the house. |
