Quality Design & Construction, Inc. (formerly Quality Home Improvements by David J. Mackowski, Inc.) is a full service design/build contractor serving the Triangle area since August, 1994. We are honored to have been chosen as the 2009 and 2002 Chrysalis Southern Regional Remodeler of the Year. In addition, Quality Design and Construction was selected as the 2009 Remodeler of the Year by the Raleigh/Wake County Home Builders Association.

The company began as a dream for Dave Mackowski. Dave had always been interested in home remodeling and improvements. His father had always involved Dave in his home projects and he was involved in all phases of building his own home in Erie, Pennsylvania. The company he was working for had a major layoff and the severance from that position as well as his drive to achieve his goals was the foundation for the company. Dave’s basic philosophy in the home improvement and remodeling industry is to perform work that he would find acceptable on his own home. He has worked diligently to instill this in all employees in the company. Dave and his wife Peggy are currently serving on the board of the Remodelors Council™ with the Raleigh/Wake County Home Builders Association. Dave and Peggy have both been recognized as (CGR) Certified Graduate Remodelers, (CGP) Certifed Green Professionals and have earned their CAPS (Certified Aging-In-Place) designation from the National Association of Home Builders.

Quality Design & Construction is a member of NARI, as well.  NARI is the National Association of the Remodeling Industry.  Since not all contractors or remodelers can become members of NARI, homeowners can be assured that those who have been accepted as members are full-time, dedicated remodeling professionals, who adhere to a strict code of ethics.

Quality Design & Construction also hold membership with the National Kitchen & Bath Association, a non-profit trade association with over 25,000 members. The NKBA promotes professionalism and ethical business practices, ensuring that you, our clients, receive the best from Quality Design & Construction - from our designs, to the way we conduct business.

We are also an Accredited, A+ Rated design and remodeling business by the Better Business Bureau of Eastern North Carolina.
